Amgen Biotech Experience

CASE was named as a new Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) partner in August 2017!

The Amgen Biotech Experience is an innovative science education program that provides teacher professional development, teaching materials, and research-grade equipment and supplies to secondary schools. The program features a hands-on molecular biology curriculum that introduces students to the excitement of scientific discovery. CASE is excited to expand this program in DC to reach 600 students by 2020!

The ABE Summer PDI for high school teachers will take place July 23 - 26th from 9:00 - 4:00 pm at the Carnegie Institution for Science (1530 P Street NW). High school teachers from DC public schools and DC public charter schools will be given preference for course acceptance. Teachers from DC who complete the course and borrow a STEM kit for their classroom will receive $1,000 stipend. Completing the ABE Summer PDI will certify teachers to borrow research-grade biotech equipment for their classrooms.
