Summer STARS

CASE conducts a six-week summer laboratory research experience in Astrobiology for high school and undergraduate students. Summer STARS students are paid through the DC’s Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) to learn laboratory research techniques, interact and develop a mentor relationship with Carnegie scientists and staff, and receive training in college and workplace readiness skills. Throughout the summer, students complete  a research project and present their findings by the end of the term.

Students must be registered for the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program to be eligible. Join our Mailing List to stay apprised of program openings.

This summer, participants also completed and supported the Amgen Biotech Experience summer Professional Development Institute.
