First Light Application
First Light Saturday Science School invites middle school students to apply for the 2024 Winter Term! Please complete the form below and attach a signed copy of the CASE Release Form to apply.
During the Fall Term, students will begin the first in our 3-part series of circuits and robotics! We highly encourage participation in all 3 terms, as content builds throughout the year. Students will focus on Introductory Coding and Robotics skills, such as reading circuit diagrams, using a breadboard, and writing code!
Dates for the upcoming Spring Term are:
- March 23rd
- April 6th, 27th
- May 4th, 11th, 18th
Sessions run from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm each week. (Except for the first session, which starts at 12:30 p.m. for orientation). Sessions are held at Carnegie’s Broad Branch Road campus (5251 Broad Branch Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015, in the Greenewalt Building)
Student Eligibility:

- In 6th – 8th grade
- 10 years or older
- Enrolled in Washington D.C. public and public charter schools
- Fully vaccinated
